Working with Me

I approach our time together from an existential and relational angle. Some of life’s biggest challenges are related to figuring out and understanding who we are, where we’ve been, and what we want from our relationships both with ourselves and with others. Despite the inevitable hardship and pain that we experience, there is an immeasurable richness to life. I want therapy to be a time for us to make sense of where life has taken you and to figure out how you want to move forward, whether you are looking for individual therapy or relationship therapy with your partner(s). 

You are in the driver’s seat, but it’s okay to need a little bit of help to get the car in gear. That’s what therapy is for. I’m a firm believer in the power of humor and pragmatism. I want you to feel like you are getting something useful from our time together, whatever that means for you. My aim is always to bring the abstract back down to earth so that you feel like we are working toward your goals.

About Me

I was born and raised in Oakland, CA and now live in San Francisco. After a stint on the East Coast for college, I realized what a special place the Bay Area was and came running back as quickly as I could. I began my career in mortgage lending and after a while it dawned on me that my heart wasn’t in a career in finance or financial technology. I had always had an interest in counseling, especially couple’s work. I decided to take a leap and pursued my master’s in marriage and family therapy from University of San Francisco. I haven’t looked back since. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with people from all walks of life, providing therapy in both English and Spanish.
